Peak by Roland Smith

Peak loves to climb - anything. When he lived out west he climbed mountains; now that he lives in New York City, he climbs skyscrapers. Well, it turns out that it is illegal and Peak is arrested. Peak must now go and live with his father, a world away, in Tibet. His father makes plans to have Peak climb Mount Everest - this feat will make him the youngest ever to make it to the summit - if he does.
I'm not a mountain climber, but I found this book a very fast and interesting read. It's a story about family relationships, friendship, growing up, as well as mountain climbing.
