If the Witness Lied by Caroline B. Cooney

Caroline Cooney, author of The Face on the Milk Carton, does it again. If the Witness Lied is a fast-paced murder mystery that centers around the Fountain family. The youngest brother, two-year-old Tris, is thought to be responsible for the death of both of his parents. His mother chose not to have chemotherapy when she was pregnant with Tris which resulted in her death. Their Aunt Cheryl also blames Tris for his father's accidental death.

Meanwhile, the children in the family are miserable. Madison and Smithy, the two older sisters, leave home and leave Jack, their older brother, to take care of Tris. Aunt Cheryl has moved in to take care of the children, but she seems to care more about the house than the children. When their aunt invites television cameras into their home to film how the children are coping with their grief, things begin to unravel.

Read this gripping mystery to see if you can uncover who really is responsible for the death of Mr. Fountain. I highly recommend this one!
