Viola in Reel Life by Adriana Trigiani

Viola's parents are documentary film makers who must go on an extended trip to Afghanistan. They enroll Viola in a boarding school in South Bend, Indiana, a world away from the fast-paced city life Viola enjoyed in Brooklyn. Viola is miserable at first- she misses her family and best friends and feels lonely and abandoned. Viola is a  vibrant, funny,  main character who tells us her story in a charming, humorous way that makes the reader laugh and cry along with her.

If you like romance stories and novels about contemporary teenage life, you will love Viola in Reel Life!
