Black and White by Paul Volponi

Wow, what a riveting book! I should warn you that there is some strong language used here, but it does add to the gritty reality of this novel.Marcus and Eddie are star basketball players destined to be given athletic scholarships to college. Marcus (African-American) and Eddie (white) desperately need money and consider working in a fast-food restaurant demeaning. So although they are basically good kids, they begin to rob people for money. This snowballs into an horrific event that will affect their entire lives - and their friendship. This book is a very fast read, but it will stay with you a long time.
