Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

"I had just come to accept that my life would be ordinary when extraordinary things began to happen. The first of these came as a terrible shock and, like anything that changes you forever, split my life into halves: Before and After. Like many of the extraordinary things to come, it involved my grandfather, Abraham Portman."

Sixteen-year-old Jacob, sets off on a journey to Wales to find out what really happened to his grandfather when Abraham was sent to an orphange during World War II. This book is part fantasy, part mystery, and just really very interesting.

The photographs included in the book really add to the story - very, very, strange indeed! Look again at the cover of this book - do you notice anything strange?

In case I haven't intrigued you enough, take a look at the book trailer here:
