Peanut by Ayun Halliday & Paul Hoppe

Sadie is beginning her sophomore year of high school in a new school. She is worried that because she is new, everyone will know one another and she won't be able to make friends. She needs a way to make herself stand out. So ... she invents a life-threatening peanut allergy and even gets a medic-alert bracelet from the Internet.  What can go wrong?  Unfortunately, she hasn't thought things through and now can't ever invite her new friends to her house because, obviously, her mother knows nothing about her severe allergy. Also, the school nurse needs her medical history, especially considering even a bite of food containing peanuts could kill her. Read this funny graphic novel when you have a few hours and want something amusing (yet with a message) to read. There are a few minor sexual references here, so I recommend this to more mature middle schoolers.
